When up in Glasgow visting my Gran, I noticed a few things some good and some not.
Free Parking ! I couldn't believe it as I thought I was going to be ripped off.
Huge investment in building a new part of the Hospital. Again you really had to see it to believe it but you can take my word in that it was impressive.
The ward where I saw my gran was back in the dark ages, dirty, depressing and unhelpful staff.
I'm not going to tar everyone or everything with that brush but it seems to me the NHS doesn't want to change as its to comfortable.
For instance for all the investment in this new part of the hospital is there going to be a change in culture?
I'll bet no one knows (I'm pretty sure that the NHS is the largest employer in the uk if not Europe)
That means in both staff and attitude. What they maybe fail to understand is that it can be a scary place for both patient and vistors a like.
Engaging and open communication might be a start. |

The whole of the NHS needs to be revamped, there are thousands upon thousands of non- jobs that need to be pruned.
Then of course there are the foreign nationals who use our Hospitals for free, this has to end. |

We also need to stop the privatisations that began us Maggie Thatcher, and have continued under Maggie Major, Maggie Blair, Maggie Brown and now Maggie Cameron and Maggie Clegg, the NHS should be as it was founded of, by and for the British public, soley owned by them and soley used by them |

Totally agree. The NHS should stay public not private for the select few. A prunning middle managment with savings going back into more nurses. |

quite right Robert, I have all for the existance of Private hospitals if people want to pay for the them but the NHS is there to provide a good standard of care for all British citizens, whether you are a billionaire or a tramp. |

I went into the London Private hospital for an operation and was there a week. It was terrible. Far,far worse than my NHS experiences.
Nearly all negro nurses who sat on their fat arses and did nothing in the nurses station. They only jumped to attention when the consultants put in an appearance.
My bed was not made,my drip was allowed to run through in spite of me asking for help. It was awful and had i not been so ill would have asked for a transfer elsewhere.
Its all down to staff and if you employ third world staff you get third world treatment regardless of whether its private or NHS. That is the big problem with the NHS. Too many foreign staff and loss of control.
Management is bloated and innefective, and its all 'jobs for the boys'.
I cannot see it getting better as we have a declining population of British docs and nurses and more and more trash is imported. |
