Labour plot to oust The QUEEN: MPs plan to address conference calling to ditch Monarchy
TWO Labour MPs faced anger last night after agreeing to address the annual conference of a campaign group dedicated to scrapping the Monarchy.

Shadow business minister Chi Onwurah and newly-elected backbencher Emma Dent Coad were yesterday announced as guest speakers at the gathering for supporters of Republic in Newcastle-upon-Tyne this Saturday.

The conference, organised under the theme "Taking Back Control", is due to debate plans for replacing Britain's constitutional monarchy with an elected head of state.

A Tory MP last night said their attendance at the event was an indication of how far the hard Left Labour had lurched under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership.

Backbencher Andrew Bridgen said: "They are entitled to their views, but it is clear that a large proportion of the Labour Party including Jeremy Corbyn want this country to become a Republic and the Queen removed.

"Perhaps they want Mr Corbyn installed in her place as a president and living in Buckingham Palace. He seems to want the country to be run like socialist Venezuela. Under his leadership, Labour does not like Britain."

Ms Emma Dent Coad, who became the new MP for Kensington at last month's general election, has long been an outspoken opponent of the Monarchy.

She is a member of Republic and has described the Royal Family as a "blight on our society" and "our own dysfunctional Kardashians, subsidised from the public purse".

When a street party was held on the Mall to mark the Queen's 90th birthday last year, she helped organise an alternative "people's picnic".

Ms Onwurah, who is shadow business minister and MP for Newcastle-upon-Tyne Central, provoked anger earlier this month by making a jibe about Prince Philip on social media.

Hours after Buckingham Palace announced that the Prince was retiring from public duties, she wrote on Twitter: "Congratulations to Prince Philip on retiring in financial security at time of his choosing from a job he enjoys."

She deleted the comment following an angry reaction online.

The pair will join former Green Party leader Natalie Bennett as speakers at the conference.

Mr Corbyn has made anti-Monarchist statements in the past, although he insists that getting rid of the Royal Family is currently "not on my agenda".

During the election campaign he insisted that scrapping the Monarchy was not in Labour's manifesto because: "We're not going to do it."

He also said he had recently had "a nice chat with the Queen".

Graham Smith, Republic's chief executive, yesterday said: "Talk of taking back control is hollow when power remains centralised and concentrated in Number 10.

Ms Emma Dent Coad described the Royal family as "our own dysfunctional Kardashians"

"We need radical reform that shifts the balance of power between the government, parliament and voters.

"Republic sees the abolition of the monarchy as key to creating a more robust democracy: a written constitution, fully elected parliament and proper limitations on power.

"We're delighted to have new Kensington MP Emma Dent Coad speaking alongside Chi Onwurah, Natalie Bennett and other great guests.

"I'm going to be making clear the central role the monarchy plays in Britain's constitution - and why the monarchy needs to go.

"A genuinely democratic parliamentary system for Britain is long overdue."

A genuine democracy this is a joke, there is no democracy in this country at all never mind that fact this country is running two sets of laws , one for us and another for Muslims, foreigners are given priority in everything over the British population----------its really time to throw labour into the dustbin of history and start a new-----------------for a real democracy an awful lot of people who are against this country must go-------one way or another
