Dear Members and Friends,
We have been here before. In 1642 to be precise, when Charles 1 asserted his right to divine rule. We now seem to have the Divine Right of May. And we know from history that the People will not be dishonoured. How have we come to this pass? Have we learnt nothing from history?
The rot set in when Cameron decided that the Conservative Party needed funding from big business, hence the influence of the CBI. No longer would the Party rely upon funding from the constituencies, their constituency chairmen deemed irrelevant. This of course led to a decline in membership from 1.5 million in the 1980s to some 125,000 now, a 95% percent decline over 30 years. The Conservative Party, CINO or Conservative in name only, is in irreversible decline. And the hard Brexit group led by Jacob Rees-Mogg will soon have to find a new berth after 10th December.
The 10th December is when Parliament, in all likelihood, will vote down the PMs so called deal, otherwise known as a capitulation. After that decision, the no confidence letters will flood in, but it will be too late. The Tory Party will split, as it did after the Corn Law Reforms in the 1830s, and they will be out of power for a generation.
But wait! We do not want to be the bearer of bad news! We will shortly be forming our own political party to represent the disenfranchised 17.4 million who voted for a clean Brexit. And they, for their part, will vote for us in their millions, or never vote again. If the latter, we in the UK will be no better than North Korea, our democracy will be dead. This then, is our great countrys moment of truth. To revolutionise our political system so that the People obtain true representation or to decline into irrelevance. The stakes could not be higher, higher even than Brexit, for our way of life as we know it, hangs in the balance.
