Nigel Farage
14 hrs

June 2020 was the month in which freedom of speech in Britain was threatened as never before. Genuine indignation about the police killing of George Floyd in Minnesota on 25 May has led to weeks of hysteria in which rational debate has been silenced, our national leadership has failed, and the integrity of our broadcast media has sunk to new depths.

A great fear has gripped corporate companies and politicians as they have parroted the words Black Lives Matter and in doing so supported an overtly political organisation. Anyone who has not conformed has been denounced as racist. Hopefully, this dangerous period is now coming to an end.

From the beginning, nobody appeared to understand - or perhaps did not want to understand - what Black Lives Matter really stands for. I was quick to draw the distinction between what the three words can mean side by side (the desire to live in a society with equality of opportunity) and the Marxist group which has adopted them as its official name. In this, I suppose I had a head start. My involvement with US politics meant I was already familiar with the well-funded, extreme left-wing organisation Black Lives Matter.

With that said, it would not have taken much effort on the part of Britains media, politicians or businesses to understand this as well. A quick look at the Black Lives Matter website or, indeed, its social media platforms shows clearly that the main objectives of this organisation are to defund and ultimately to abolish the police; to close down prisons; to abolish capitalism; and, of course, to push an anti-Israel anti-Semitic agenda. The lawless nightmare that these people wish to inflict on our society is tantamount to a criminals charter.

The speed with which the protests across the West sprung up in the wake of the George Floyds death was no accident. In fact, I think it possible they had long been planned. In the name of combatting racism, what this organisation really seeks to do is to destroy every vestige of our history and our national identity. This is why heroes such as Drake, Nelson and Churchill have been under such sustained attack in recent weeks.

Many white British people have been complicit in this. It is almost as if they want to feel guilty about our country and our history. How sad it is to see Prince Harry playing along with this game.

For their Marxist utopia to come to fruition, they must first demolish every symbol that represents our nation state. And yet, while this was so obvious to me, the total and utter failings of our senior police chiefs, of the Archbishop of Canterbury, of our broadcasters and our conservative government have made it so much easier to Black Lives Matter to get a foothold.

Now at last there is a ray of light. Initially, the Premier League and businesses linked with football were quick to jump on the Black Lives Matter bandwagon. This week, some individual football pundits have been just as quick to jump off it. They now lead the way in refusing to wear badges bearing the Black Lives Matter logo. Even the BBC wants BLM symbols removed from our screens, claiming the group has been hijacked by extremist elements on the left. This, of course, is untrue. BLM is, and always has been, an extremist organisation. If using the word hijacked allows everybody to justify their decision to distance themselves from Junes collective spasm of stupidity, thats fine by me.

The big lesson that I have learned over the last few weeks is just how fragile the things in life that we value are. A herd mentality and the sheer idiocy of people threatened so much of what we hold dear. I am unsurprised by senior police chiefs and Justin Welby being so weak. But I am still scratching my head as to how a Conservative government with an 80-seat majority has allowed the mob to behave in such a disgraceful manner. I congratulate Sir Keir Starmer for speaking the truth about BLM's real intentions. Just as Tony Blair charmed much of Conservative middle England in the 1990s, Boris Johnson may well be outflanked on law and order by Starmer. Again I find myself saying: it is time for this government to become Conservative again.

DONT FORGET THAT STARMER BENT THE KNEE TO BLM ALONG WITH THE POLICE ,FOOTBALLERS, RACING DRIVERS AND OTHERS WHO WILL REAP WHAT THEY HAVE SOWN
