UN has 'compelling proof' Iran is building nuclear warheads

Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili said he will complain to the UN about supposed 'terror' operations carried out by U.S. agents
There is a compelling case that Iran is secretly building an arsenal of nuclear warheads, warns the United Nations.

As speculation mounts that Israel or the U.S. could lead a military strike against Iran, a report clearly rejects Tehrans claims its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes only.

Although the UNs International Atomic Energy Agency will stop short of explicitly saying Iran is making its own nuclear bombs, it will give plenty of new details.

Its report, due to be released next week, will also add to areas of concern that the UN has raised previously.

There are bits of it which clearly can only be for clandestine nuclear purposes, said an official.

It is a compelling case.

The IAEA will also make public findings which its authors say make little sense unless they are weapons-related.

Tehran denies secretly trying to develop nuclear weapons, insisting it is enriching uranium for reactors to generate electricity.

But Iran has become increasingly belligerent in recent weeks and last night tensions were continuing to mount over its ambitions.

Saeed Jalili, the countrys top nuclear negotiator, was defiant as he spoke at an anti-America rally.
He declared that he will complain to the UN about supposed terror operations carried out by U.S. agents.

Mr Jalili added that the Swiss ambassador to Iran was due to be summoned to the Foreign Ministry to be handed a dossier to back up his claims.

Proof: A test-fire launch of a short-range missile in Iran. The UN now has a 'compelling case' that Iran is building an arsenal of nuclear weapons
At a news conference, French President Nicolas Sarkozy hinted at potential divisions between Western powers when he said he would not back a preventative strike against Iran.

However, he said that if Israels existence was threatened, then France will not stand by with arms crossed.

Yesterday, China, a key customer of Irans oil which has been less keen on military action, urged Tehran not to be confrontational with the IAEA. Beijing called on Iran to show flexibility and sincerity and have earnest co-operation.

Meanwhile, U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry said he would back military action if he was in the White House.

Up against it: Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could be set to face military action if the UN's case stands
Earlier this week, it was revealed Britain was drawing up contingency plans for any military action.

Commanders were working out how to deploy Navy submarines equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles in case President Barack Obama decides to launch missile strikes against Iranian bases.

Israels prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defence minister Ehud Barak are reportedly agitating for pre-emptive action.

Mr Netanyahu is seeking Cabinet support for an attack and earlier this week Israel test-fired a new long-range missile.

In May, the IAEA said it had information related to the possible development by Iran of what analysts describe as an atomic bomb trigger.

This would be a key part of any nuclear weapons programme.

The agency called on Iran to provide clarifications which will be included in its forthcoming report.

If they ever have the stupidity to launch, then Iran will be obliterated by all the remaining powers and Iran will be no more, BUT THERE AGAIN NEITHER WOULD WE.
