Referenda are the purest example of democracy. They are the direct vote of the citizens. They are not contaminated by the whims and fancies of the representatives in a representative democracy such as ours in the UK. Democracy is imperilled when the will of the plurality as expressed in a referendum is denied, overturned, ignored or diluted by the elected representatives who believe they know better or can do better than the people. Representative democracy is endangered when the representatives determine that the will of the people as expressed in referenda is of lesser import than votes among themselves or they choose to ignore the voice of democracy. When the representatives are given a mandate by the plurality in a referendum, then they must fulfil the mandate as given by the people to the best of their ability.

Since our referendum and mandate was given, the representatives charged with delivering it have vacillated on that mandate. There has been every attempt to deny the mandate not only by many of the elected representatives but also by unelected representatives. There continue to be calls to upset the referendum by having another referendum by the cognoscenti and others who do not have the will of the people at heart. The people that voted in the plurality have been insulted and demeaned because of their vote. Being told that they did not know what they are voting for, that they were uninformed or misinformed. Ignore the mandate at your peril.

The BBC is doing all it can to keep the news about the uprising of the Yellow Vests in France , Greece , Holland or Brussels , the question is why? it would appear that the only way we can get these traitorous MPs to do as the public wants is to follow the example of the Yellow Vests ---------but once it has started it cannot be put back into the bottle ----------
