David Cameron: it is 'make or break' for the euro
David Cameron has warned eurozone leaders it is now make or break for the single currency as the financial turmoil threatens to cause another global meltdown.

The Prime Minister will say in a speech today that the eurozone is at a crossroads and he is ready to do whatever is necessary to protect this country.

Mr Camerons intervention comes after Sir Mervyn King, the Governor of the Bank of England, expressed his frustration at European leaders who were just kicking the can down the road.

The alarm has arisen amid political chaos in Greece and signs of an increasing divergence between Germany and France over austerity measures.

Mr Cameron today will build on a warning he made during Prime Ministers Questions yesterday, when he said eurozone leaders could not put off a decision on which path to take. He said: It either has to make up or it is looking at a potential break-up. Thats the choice they have to make and it is a choice they cant long put off.

In a speech in Manchester today, Mr Cameron will say that Europe needs a committed, stable eurozone with an effective financial firewall, well-regulated banks and a supportive monetary policy . . . or we are in uncharted territory which carries huge risks for everybody.

He will warn that whatever path is chosen he will do whatever is necessary to protect Britain.

During another tense day across the Continent, the European Central Bank stopped funding several Greek banks, amid fears they were insolvent. The banks may now have to rely on financial support from the Greek central bank to prevent a run on savings.

Greek political parties stopped trying to form a coalition government, with elections being called on June 17.

George Tsipras, the Greek Left-wing leader, yesterday accused Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, of playing poker with peoples lives. He was speaking before the G20 meeting of world leaders in Mexico next month, seen as the deadline for resolving the European crisis.

In Spain, Mariano Rajoy, the prime minister, warned of a borrowing freeze for beleaguered European economies, saying he faced astronomical prices to service Spanish debts.

Stockmarkets across the Continent suffered another day of plunging share prices with the FTSE-100 index closing down 0.6 per cent.

Earlier this week, George Osborne, the Chancellor, accused other European leaders of adding to the turmoil by openly speculating about the euros future.

However, his advice has been dismissed with senior politicians and financial experts making contingency plans. Sir Mervyn King said the single currency was tearing itself apart without any obvious solution.

Sir Mervyn said contingency planning for Greece to leave the euro was taking place but declined to disclose details.

Michael Spencer, the former Conservative Party treasurer and senior City figure, said: I have felt for quite a long time that Greeces exit from the euro was a matter of when, not if. I think it is better for Greece in the long run.

The Bank of England cut its forecast for growth this year to 0.8 per cent.

It predicts that the forthcoming extended Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend will knock 0.5 percentage points off the gross domestic product.

The official forecast also suggests that economic growth will only now return to pre-crisis levels in 2014.

In todays speech, Mr Cameron will reject calls to change the Governments strategy by delaying public sector cuts.

We must resist dangerous voices calling on us to retreat, he will say. Yes, we are doing everything we can to return this country to strong, stable economic growth. But no, we will not do that by returning to the something-for-nothing economics that got us into this mess.

WHY DOES CAMERLOON NOT GIVE THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY A REFERENDUM ON THE EU? INSTANT SAVINGS, GET RID OF THE IMMIGRANTS, MORE JOBS, MORE HOMES, MORE PLACES IN SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS MORE OF A FUTURE.

It is a curious fact of this entire crisis that the blame has been squarely laid where it doesn't belong. The Greeks are rightly blamed for profligacy, but this has nothing to do with the crisis. The German press screamed for Greece to sell islands etc, and they went to town on Greek retirement ages and non-existent taxes: all true too, but nonetheless irrelevant and misplaced ire.

The truth is darker as truth is wont to be, as the writer Cormac McCarthy says. German and French and British banks, supposedly highly competent entities run by Harvard or Oxford or Cambridge lads on mega-bucks lent money to Greece as if it were Germany, with all the industrial might to pay for it. When it all went belly-up they want the Greeks not themselves to pay for it, hence socialising the debt. Capitalism is clear- you take a punt and you win and lose by your own efforts. Let the banks hang for their money, and let public ire be directed at the idiots who lent the money when they really should have known better.
It is more suprising that the same thing is being done in the UK, why should the people pay for the Government/Banks debt? it is not our debt, we did not agree to bail out the banks they should have been allowed to go bust.
If this had been the case how many people would not now be up to their necks in debt and taxes imposed by this government saying we are all in this together, except of course the very people who started it in the first place.

Immigration and welfare has driven europe to bankruptcy, and this can be easily seen when you overlay a graph showing the rising tide of migrants and then compare to the debt that has been piled up while we have paid out to house, feed, health care, education, policing, supply their wants and imprison their criminals.

Take an estimate of say 20,000,000 migrants across europe costing us an estimated but probably understated 1,000gbp a month. Thats 240 billion added straight to the debt pile each year. Do that for 10 years and 2.4 trillion can be attributed purely to immigration. Add on the third world aid we send out each year and in Britains case alone that would add approx 150 billion more for just the Uk over the same decade, so using a sensible estimated with the rest of Europe's foreign aid we would be at a total approaching 750 billion more debt on that alone.

The USA/Canada in much the same situation probably has a similar burden of costs. So the West can attribute 6 trillion of debt over a ten year period just to immigration and the burdens these third worlders bring with them. That's not even considering the added costs to other families and legitimate citizens who then have to pay higher prices for housing and suffer the impact of higher crime and a more violent society where their rights are diminshed.
