Eurocrats are trying to shows us why we are better off in the EU

By Macer Hall EUROCRATS are plotting a propaganda blitz to combat anti-Brussels opinion across Europe.
They are calling for a new �audit of benefits� which they claim will show the EU bureaucracy saves taxpayers billions a year and prevents violent conflict across Europe.
The European Economic and Social Committee, a Brussels-based consultative body, wants the audit to �thwart the eurosceptics and call public opinion to witness the fact that Europe is not the problem but must be seen as the solution�.
It calls on the EU to claim that �peace, prosperity, fundamental rights� are the products of �European integration�.
Ukip leader Nigel Farage said last night: �It is almost funny. Of course they have heavy propaganda artillery. However, we have the facts. The UK is better off out of the European Union.�
Tim Aker, of campaign group Get Britain Out, said Brussels could not talk about upholding peace and prosperity when there were riots in southern Europe over EU-enforced austerity. �No amount of propaganda will convince the British public the EU is good for us,� he said.
