Over the next 30 years the gap is expected to widen even more

England has become the most overcrowded major country in Europe.

Population growth is so rapid that four times as many people will soon be crammed in as France and twice as many as Germany.

England has overtaken the Netherlands to become second only to tiny Malta as the most densely populated nation in the EU.

Over the next 30 years the gap will widen because Germany, France and Holland will either decline or grow only slowly.

The House of Commons figures based on data from the UK and EU statistical agencies show the huge impact of Labours open-door immigration policy.

By 2046, an estimated 494 people will be squeezed into every square kilometre of England compared with 411 now and only 374 when Tony Blair took power in 1997.

The revelations will fuel the debate over immigration, especially with the UK opening its borders to Romanian and Bulgarian workers on New Years Day.

James Clappison, the Tory MP who obtained the figures, said: Under the last Labour government, Englands green and pleasant land became Englands green and crowded land.
ENGLAND FEELS THE SQUEEZE

England - 419
Holland - 408
Wales - 258
Germany - 226

Poland - 123
Portugal - 116
France - 105
Romania - 89
Bulgaria - 66
Scotland - 40

For reasons which have never been properly explained, Labour instigated a policy of massive expansion of immigration.

The fear must be a future Labour government would do the same. Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the Migrationwatch think-tank, said 90 per cent of immigrants to the UK headed to England.

The rapidly growing population density is an inevitable consequence of Labours mass immigration of nearly four million in 13 years, he added.

We already see the pressure on maternity units and primary schools. Less visible is the pressure on housing, which is already in crisis.

We will need to build 200 houses a day for the next 20 years or so simply for new immigrants and their families.

The House of Commons report says the number of people living in every square kilometre in England will rise from 411 now to 419 in 2015, to 433 in 2020 and to 460 in 2030.

By 2046, an astonishing 494 people will be living in each square kilometre.

The equivalent figure for France will be just 115, for Germany 204 and the Netherlands 421.

By 2015, England will also be more than three times more packed than Poland where an estimated one million of the arrivals under Labour originated from.

The research raises concerns about how the UKs infrastructure can cope with the increased pressure on schools, hospitals and roads.

The large numbers packed into the country will also affect water and power supplies, and will increase pressure to build over green spaces.

David Cameron, under pressure to confront the electoral threat posed by UKIP, has changed the law to prevent EU migrants claiming any benefits in the first three months following arrival.
DAILY MAIL COMMENT

In the wake of the open door immigration policies deliberately pursued by New Labour, England is now the most crowded country in Europe.

By 2015, there will be twice as many people crammed into every square kilometre as in Germany, and four times more than in France.

Only three decades from now, unless there is a significant tightening in border controls, there will be almost 495 people living in each square kilometre compared to only 374 when Labour came to power in 1997.

Vince Cable and his colleagues on the Left disgracefully suggest that it is somehow racist to worry about immigration.

As our revelations show, it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with how schools, social services, the NHS and housing can possibly be expected to cope with such unprecedented pressure.

Officials say they want to reduce the pull factor to the UK.

Last weekend, tensions between the two Coalition government parties boiled over when Liberal Democrat Business Secretary Vince Cable likened Tory policies to Enoch Powells notorious 1960s rivers of blood speech.

The Office for National Statistics has already warned that Britain must make room for almost 10million more people over the next 25 years the equivalent of building a city even larger than London.

The increase, mainly a result of immigration and high migrant birthrates, will push numbers to 73.3million by 2037.

A Home Office spokesman said: Immigration has brought benefits to the UK and we welcome people who want to come here to contribute to our economy and society.

However, it is important to control immigration because of its effect on social cohesion, our public services, and on jobs and wages.

The figures for the rest of the UK in 2015 are predicted to be: Scotland 40 per square kilometre, Wales 258 and Northern Ireland 131. Maltas figure is expected to be 1,308.

THE UK IS 209,331 SQUARE KILOMETERS X 419 =87,709699 PEOPLE HERE NOW, SOMEONE IS TELLING LIES

Romanian MP warns us that large migrant numbers are coming to live in UK
HUNDREDS of thousands of Romanians will flock to the UK from other European countries in the New Year, the Sunday Express was told last night by one of the countrys top MPs.

The largest wave will arrive from recession-hit Spain and Italy to take advantage of Britains blossoming economy, warned the MP, Aurelian Mihai.

He said two million of his countrymen are thought to be living in the two Mediterranean countries but face racial abuse, a lack of job prospects and no access to unemployment benefits.

Many of them, he added, are now eyeing a move to the UK when work visa restrictions are lifted on January 1.

Mr Mihai, who was elected by Romanians living in Western Europe to represent their interests in Bucharest, admitted the UK was an attractive destination.

He said: It is true Romanians in Spain and Italy have hard times finding and keeping jobs due to the recession.

Whatever the final number of Romanians who choose to emigrate, the British economy and the British nation will see a very real and positive contribution from their work.

At the end of the day Romanians want a chance to work and be paid like anyone else, mostly in construction, agriculture, and the service industry, and to use that to create better lives back home, to build a house, finance a childs education, or simply to get enough capital to start a business.

The Romanian population in Italy is estimated to be 1,000,000, 15 times greater than the number living there 10 years ago.

A similar number live in Spain, a figure which has shot up 30-fold in a decade.

Large numbers of the migrant workforce have seen their jobs wiped out by the economic difficulties in both countries. They also complain of being targeted for daily abuse by locals.

By contrast there are only around 90,000 Romanians living in the UK. They have reported a largely positive reception and have access to benefits when out of work.

Mr Mihai angrily dismissed claims Romanians were going abroad merely to live off the state. He told the Sunday Express: I think its insulting to lower the debate to the level of accusing Romanians and Bulgarians of wanting to come to the UK to claim benefits.

The suggestion to us as European citizens is not only a tired one but a serious insult to the concept of European citizenship. Such stereotypes need to disappear if we are to really enact European Union legislation that allows all EU citizens the same rights.

William Brinza, a spokesman for Romanians abroad, did concede it was well known the UK had a good benefits system that was still paying out to support people despite a difficult couple of years economically.

He said: We all know the UK fulfils all the expectations of the citizens even in these times of recession in terms of what it offers in benefits, but the UK does not need to worry, as I know my people well, and very few will want to be living on benefits.

Romanian Adrian Dobre, 38, has been working in the construction industry in Spain for five years and said: We get paid far less than the locals even when we get paid at all, and we get treated badly for doing the worst jobs.

Im fed up and after spending Christmas back home Im going to go to the UK. With my experience I am sure Ill find work and be paid much better than here.

Alina Toba, 28, tried working in Spain for a year as an au pair but said she was paid SDHppractically nothing every month and so had moved to Italy after being promised a job as a waitress. However, that job lasted only a week because her employer insisted she entertain guests with topless pole dancing.

She said: They are really racist in Italy. I gave up and went back home but you cant save anything from work in Romania and Im now going to try in one of the new countries. I prefer Germany as its nearer but as I speak English I will probably go to the UK.

Romanian Labour Minister Mariana Campeanu recently sparked outrage by suggesting Britain should be grateful for a workforce willing to do jobs Britons do not want.

She said: Immigrants have made a significant contribution to British GDP and should be congratulated for accepting spare jobs, in agriculture and services that Brits living on benefits turn down.

Maybe there is a reason why many Brits are not interested in the jobs Romanians might apply for. If they are available, someone will take them, regardless of their origin: Romania, Italy, Spain or elsewhere.

Officially the number of Romanians living abroad is claimed to be over two million, but in reality it is believed to be far higher especially among the Roma community, some of whom are not even registered as existing by the Romanian authorities, let alone notifying them when they head abroad to live or work.

Many flee Romania to escape racial abuse.

It is estimated there are now 300,000 Roma living in the UK. They are said to come from Romania and also the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
